Nestled in a sandy, sheltered bay on the west coast of the island, surrounded by pine-covered hills, can be found the tiny resort of Cala Tarida. It boasts a long beach of fine, white sand which is south-west-facing and therefore blessed by sunshine from morning until evening. It has beautiful clear turquoise and azure waters, and some of the most amazing sunsets on the island.

In comparison to some of the livelier resorts, Cala Tarida offers a peaceful, tranquil alternative. There are no nightclubs here, but there are some bars and places to eat, including nice beach restaurants and a luxury beach club with stunning views of the beach and bay.

There is a supermarket and a few shops, and the resort offers great bathing in safe, shallow water, water sports and a dive centre.

Cala Tarida is situated close to San Antonio; the second largest town on the island is a fifteen minute bus ride away. Or you may prefer to take one of the frequent ferry boats, a lovely journey along the stunning west coast of the island. The ferry stops at many of the beautiful beaches on the way like Cala Conta and Cala Bassa, so you can use it also for some beach hopping.

In San Antonio you will find a wide offer of bars, restaurants and the famous Ibizan nightlife. From San Antonio, there is a regular bus service to the rest of the island; by car, the capital Ibiza Town is a thirty-five minute drive away.

Nearby hotels and villas

Most hotels in Cala Tarida are quality hotel complexes close to the beach, providing a wide range of entertainment, sports and amenity, but there are also apartment complexes and private holiday villas catering to a wide range of tastes and budgets.
