October Festival Ibiza 2014 dates announced

Extending the Ibiza season, because who wants to be at home anyway?.

October is usually drab autumn leaves, Halloween masks and rain storms…but not for the White Isle! Summer rolls on right through to the tenth month, with a very special event planned post season; Cue October Festival Ibiza.

Originally known as The Flower Power festival, the four days of live music, culture and food celebrates the end of solstice in San Antonio from the 9th- 12th October. Music-wise the fiesta has the 60s, 70s and 80s covered; think concerts, tribute bands and headliners like 70s icon Boy George, with many more to be announced. Keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of months!

Not only does the fete include three open-air stages, it spills out on to the streets with markets, crafts, urban art from island festival Bloop and sports activities such as jet-skis, parasailing and sunset cruising…..yep, the people of San Antonio don't do things by halves.

And to top it off, drum roll please, one of the main highlights of the celebration this year is The Brand New Heavies live concert. Pioneers of the London Acid Jazz scene, the band's unique mix of jazz, funk and soul has lit up the music scene for well over two decades. They have impressively scored 16 top 40 singles including Dream On Dreamer, You've Got A Friend and their biggest smash Midnight at the Oasis which ironically clubbers can enjoy under the Balearic stars at the famous Ibiza Rocks poolside stage on Friday 10th October (closest thing we'll be getting to an ‘oasis' out here ey).

Guess the end of summer does seem pretty sunny after all…
