Amsterdam's critically acclaimed restaurant Nela will bring its distinctive fire-based cuisine to Ibiza this summer, launching a seasonal residency at 7Pines Resort on 22 May.
The move marks the first international expansion for the restaurant known for its purist approach to ingredients and mastery of live-fire cooking techniques.

Founded in Amsterdam by chefs Hari Shetty and Ori Geller alongside British entrepreneur Gilad Hayeem, Nela (meaning "pure") has earned plaudits in recent years for its uncompromising focus on high-quality ingredients and innovative cooking methods.
The Ibiza iteration will maintain this philosophy while adapting to the island's seasonal produce and Mediterranean setting.

Working in collaboration with 7Pines' executive chef Óscar Salazar, the Nela team has developed a menu that highlights both their signature fire-cooked dishes and new creations showcasing Ibiza's local ingredients. Standout dishes include:
- - Raw and cured specialties like oysters with fermented chilli and smoked oil
- - Flame-grilled Chilean sea bass with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt
- - Yellowtail with black truffle and lemon sauce
- - Half-lobster with guajillo butter and mandarin
"Fire cooking reveals the essential character of ingredients," explains Chef Shetty. "In Ibiza, we're working closely with local fishermen and farmers to source the exceptional seafood and produce that will define our summer menu."
The restaurant will also feature an extensive wine list with international labels and a cocktail menu that brings innovative touches to classic concoctions.

Thanks to its ocean-facing space, 7Pines Resort makes for a dramatic setting that complements Nela's minimalist aesthetic. Designed to let the food take centre stage, the dining room features clean lines and neutral tones set against a backdrop of uninterrupted views of the Balearic Sea and the iconic islet of Es Vedrà.
"The 7Pines location was a natural choice," says Chef Geller. "It embodies the same principles of effortless luxury and connection to nature that guide our culinary approach. The sunset views are simply unparalleled."
An international debut for the Nela group, the summer residency in Ibiza will allow the brand to prove itself abroad while maintaining its commitment to its origins. The team has brought key staff from Amsterdam to ensure consistency, while incorporating local talent and ingredients.
"We see this as more than just a seasonal pop-up," notes co-founder Hayeem. "It's an opportunity to interpret the Nela concept through Ibiza's unique lens - the light, the sea, the incredible local producers. We're building something special here that honours both our roots and our new environment."
Nela Ibiza will operate throughout the 2025 season at 7Pines Resort, between Cala Conta and Cala Codolar, on the island's stunning west coast.
The restaurant will serve dinner from Wednesdays to Sundays with extended hours during peak season. Reservations are recommended, particularly for sunset dining times.

For the culinary team, the residency represents both a homecoming and a new challenge. "Ibiza has an incredible food culture that often gets overshadowed by its party reputation," reflects Shetty. "We want to be part of showcasing the island's more refined, ingredient-driven side."
With its combination of technical precision and elemental cooking, Nela Ibiza is all set to carve out a unique space in the island's increasingly sophisticated dining scene.
