For yet another trip around the sun, Solomun +1 retains a firm grip on Sunday nights at Pacha Ibiza and rightly so.
Each week, the Bosnian beat selector calls up one of his many A-list comrades to jump in the DJ booth for an extended set, typically closing out the night back-to-back alongside our the Diynamic label boss himself.
From heavyweight underground purveyors to next-gen players, the calibre of DJ talent enlisted is always top dollar. Oh to peek inside Solomun’s phone book!
Last Sunday night, Solomun’s special guest in question was Turkish-Italian mixtress Carlita, which meant my RSVP response went something a little like…hell yeah!

Rolling into Ibiza's original super-club in the early hours of the morning, I headed straight for the dancefloor where the party was already firmly set in motion.
Working the room into an elevated high, Carlita's selection of kaleidoscopic textures inspired a deep urge to let loose in mind, body and soul, and I wasn’t alone in this.
This was one vibrant crowd who were certainly not afraid to bust a move or two.
Which, when you’re on a solo clubbing venture, makes you feel all the more relaxed in the knowledge you’re amongst like-minded partygoers, out with the sole intention of having a damn good time. Exactly what we expect from a night at party palace, Pacha.
All eyes on the booth, Carlita was seamlessly flicking between uber-cool cuts of underground groovers and hot House movers. Not even Shazam could keep up. This girl just gets it.
Then, in the prime of the party, came a super slick spin of Clüb De Combat’s record ColaZero. It was in this moment that Carlita delivered an absolute schooling on how to read the room.
Whilst taking a quick agua break at the bar, Carlita threw in this gnarly, low-swung Tech House number, and I immediately had to dart back to the dancefloor. The jarring bassline, Portuguese adlibs and swaggering attitude brought on a serious case of bass face.
Even Carlita looked pretty caught in the moment during this one.
If the name Clüb De Combat rings a bell, then consider yourself a certified Solomun disciple.
What made this drop even more special, is that just seven days prior, the rising DJ and producer duo behind it played the very same decks, warming up ahead of Solomun's all-night-long on opening night. We love these poetic recalls.
That's the magic of Solomun +1: no two Sundays sound the same, but they all speak the same language of impeccable music selections and deep connection on the dancefloor.
Handing over to Solomun at the ripe hour of 02:30, Carlita left a lasting impression. I only wish I'd had the stamina that night to catch their closing hour going back-to-back. Take my word, I'll be back.

Solomun's Sunday service is now in full swing for the summer.
Up next, one of the more eyebrow-raising bookings in this year's programme, as Solomun invites US Dubstep superstar Skrillex for a rare Ibiza date.
