Akasha tempts us with strong weekend programme

The weekend finishes with Kora playing a special set on Sunday 26 June.

Now all the island's major players have fully opened, boutique club Akasha in San Carlos would be forgiven for taking a step back. Not the case. This weekend creative director Igor Marijuán has programmed a strong line-up, starting Thursday 23 June.

If you're out celebrating cultural festival Fiesta de San Juan, then Akasha might be the perfect place to carry on afterwards.

Holotropia, first revealed by Igor in our exclusive interview from February, gets its debut offering on Thursday 23 June.

One of the party's hosts, Ida Engberg is joined by Britta Arnold and Filipa Lazary in the club from 23:00. Ida has been in scintillating form already this summer, so expect something pretty special from the island resident.

Beforehand, you can experience Las Dalias garden from 20:00 with LUM, Kalaha Moon (live)
and Martin Lanave.

There also a selection of talks from 21:00. Giancarlo Canavesio discusses neo culture,
Thomas Ermacora talks about regenerative civilisation design, Christian Jochnick on regenerative farming, modern activism by Uri Fruchtmann before Joaquín Vila talks about art consciousness.

Friday night is equally as alluring. This time its All Day I Dream's Tim Green who's hand selected by Igor to join him in the booth. Deep and organic House music on the cards from both DJs, promising to shape another classic night at Akasha.

Akasha follows this up with sets from Mira and Robbie Akbal the night after on Saturday.

Rounding off the weekend in sensational style, Las Dalias' in-house Sunday session Nido has a very special booking.

Like every Sunday, the action begins outside in the Las Dalias Night Market at 20:00. Get wrapped up in its mysterious atmosphere of crafts, colors, worldly goods and bartering, before listening some sensational music.

Bodaishin and Bohem each play DJ sets before the reins are passed to Canadian performer Kora for a very special show called Symbiose.

Symbiose is a hybrid show which incorporates live percussion, synthesizer keyboards and samples alongside traditional DJing. The soundscapes produced are multi-textured and bear Kora's unique fingerprint.

Afterwards the action moves inside to the club, where Kora will continue with a straight up DJ set until the early hours. This promises to be a proper journey on the dancefloor.

Tickets to all these parties are on sale now - and all at the very reasonable price of €15 to €20.
