Jazz Point festival returns for 2021 edition

Four days of live music from 14 October.

While 2021 has proved a rocky road to navigate in many respects here on Ibiza, one scene that has excelled is the live music scene. That continues next week, as Jazz Point festival returns from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 October.

The festivities begin at Pikes, with a musical dinner featuring the Muriel Grossmann Quartet and a special guest performance by Friday night headliner Alice Zawadzki on 14 October. Reservations are essential - limited tables remain.

The following day 15 October, the festival-proper begins at the Can Ventosa cultural centre in Ibiza Town. Mallorcan Pere Bujosa and his band support multi-disciplined headliner Alice Zawadzki.

On Saturday 16 October, again at Can Ventosa, award-winning composer Ariel Bringuez, American saxophonist Bill McHenry and their respective bands are the acts on display. The two professionals will also be offering a workshop for local musicians earlier in the day, between midday and 13:30.

Finally, a free concert from local nine-piece band Speaking Sounds closes the festival on Sunday 17 October, in Can Ventosa between 13:00 and 14:00.

The organizers of Jazz Point are dedicated to making our island an important part of the international jazz scene. Ibiza is an obvious place for such a platform, as its bohemian outlook sits in perfect synch with the essence of jazz.
